The artists from Galeria Rusz from Toruń set out on their journey across the Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeship for the fifth time. The mobile exhibition tour took place between 1-7 June 2017. Mobile billboards presented 10 unique works that visited a few cities and towns of our region: Włocławek, Toruń, Bydgoszcz, Chełmno, Grudziądz, Inowrocław, Radziejów and Szubin. This year the exhibition was titled “Beauty Is Here”. Joanna Górska and Rafał Góralski decided to concentrate on the surrounding beauty that we usually do not pay attention to. The pace of life is speeding up. We find it difficult to keep up with rapidly changing fashion, trends, phenomena and technologies. Overloaded with information, enamored by a global world, fascinated with what is somewhere far away from here, and glued to mobile phones, we do not notice or appreciate what is here, behind the window. We are rushing through the world, tired and overwhelmed with a huge wave of stimuli that affect us and our daily lives. Like in a state of trance, we are speeding up all the time, and it is worth stopping, looking around, and appreciating what we have. Are we able to notice the surrounding beauty, the beauty that is just around the corner? Are we able to notice the beauty of people around us and their histories, the beauty of architecture and art, landscape and nature? It is worth opening up to the surrounding world, looking carefully and letting oneself being charmed – noticing the beauty of the surrounding area!

The exhibition was accompanied by the workshops titled “A Person Beautiful on the Inside” during which the youngest inhabitants of this region took the floor. The participants wrote their answers to the question “What does it mean to be a person beautiful on the inside?” on a mobile billboard. Children showed their wisdom and creativity by putting important issues in simple words. In their opinion, a person beautiful on the inside is good for himself/herself and for others, develops his/her passions, respects others, takes care of the world, enjoys his/her life and what happens in his/her life, does not hurt others, and is loyal, friendly, compassionate and conscientious. The students attending Szkoła Podstawowa nr 1 (Primary School No. 1) in Szubin, Szkoła Podstawowa nr 2 im. Panny Maryi (Virgin Mary Primary School No. 2) in Inowrocław, Miejski Zespół Szkół (Municipal School Complex) in Radziejów, and Zespół Szkół Technicznych (Technical School Complex) in Włocławek took part in the workshops.
